Join Coach Beverly for this exciting session. As president of Diabetes Education Services, Beverly Thomassian believes that we can improve care through education, advocacy and curiosity. She is celebrating 25 years as a CEO of a growing company that provides compassionate evidence-based diabetes education. In addition, she has spearheaded many successful inpatient and outpatient diabetes community programs and strongly believes in the importance of mentoring.
Less than ten percent of people with diabetes ever attend a Diabetes Self-Management Program or see a registered dietitian. Yet, there is ample evidence that people with diabetes experience improved outcomes when receiving DSMES. Plus, the ADA recommends that all people with diabetes receive MNT and DSME on a regular basis. As diabetes healthcare professionals, we need to take an active role in closing this gap and increasing participant engagement within our communities. If you are starting a diabetes program or practice or if you want to revitalize your current program, you will gain fresh ideas from this exciting session.
