Monique Jackson, a Nurse Practitioner at Providence Express Care, started her career in nursing at Los Angeles Southwest Community College where she received an Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing.  While working in the Emergency Room at Martin Luther King, Monique pursued her Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University – Los Angeles. In addition to the emergency room, Monique has worked in many specialty areas including serving as an advice nurse, in the areas of interventional radiology, mental health, and a license vocational nursing instructor.

She attended school full time to complete her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.  Monique matriculated to California State University Long Beach to complete her Master of Science in Nursing while working for one of the best OB/GYN medical doctors Inglewood.

While working as a Women’s Health Provider, Monique attended California State University – Dominguez Hills to complete her Family Nurse Practitioner’s Certification. She was inspired to go back to school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner because managed care required for Primary Care Providers to treat any complaint before sending someone to a specialist provider.

After Monique became a Family Nurse Practitioner she noticed that 50 percent of her population had Diabetes or were pre-diabetes. To improve her quality of care for this targeted group of individuals, Monique became a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist to ensure that this high-risk group received the highest level of service.  Monique is currently studying to become Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.

Monique is currently engaged in a fellowship that focuses on essentials of primary care in Psychiatry at UCI/UC Davis.  Monique’s goals for being in this program are to provide and increase mental health access to the homeless population and to individuals affected by the pandemic and suffering from anxiety and depression and to increase the number of mental health providers.  Participation in this program allows her to share her learning and experiences with her colleagues.

Monique is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in the State of California and a member of the California Nurse Practitioner Association and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  Monique resides in Los Angeles, California.  She enjoys gardening, sewing, reading, learning new things, fine dining in her spare time and spending time with her family.
