Over the next few months, we will be expanding our National CE Accreditation for MDs, PAs, NPs, PharmDs, RNs, and RDNs!
We’re adding new accreditations to better support your professional goals. Our entire course catalog will soon include CE credit through the following accrediting bodies:
Our CEs count toward the CDCES exam and CDCES / BC-ADM renewal*!
Course credits will continue to count toward the CDCES and BC-ADM certification requirements, and many of our offerings (all of Standards of Care Intensive courses, plus our Virtual and Live DiabetesEd Training Conferences) fulfill the ADA Standards of Care component required for certification renewal.
Overtime, all of our courses will have this newly expanded accreditation. For now, you can confirm if a course or program has the expanded accreditation by checking in our Online Store registration pages or your course in the Online University.
Confirm with Online Store Registration Page
Each course and program registration page will have a tab next to the description that says “Accreditation.” This page will list either our newly expanded accreditation information or the previous accreditation information through the Commission of Dietetic Registration and California Board of Registered Nursing (read more abbout this accreditation below).
Confirm in Online University account
If you want to confirm if a course has the new expanded accreditation for courses you are already registered in, you can do so by checking the Handouts & Resources module of the course. Any course that has the newly expanded accreditation will list the accreditation information on that module.
Our CEs count toward the 15 CE requirements to sit for the exam! When applying to take the exam with the Certification Board for Diabetes Care & Education (CBDCE) you’ll just need to select “CDR” or “Commission on Dietetic Registration” for your CE hours source.*
Our CEs count towards the 75 CEs needed to renew your CDCES or BC-ADM for our courses/programs that have received Prior Approval through the CDR.*
Our CEs count for RDs in all states, and in most states for RNs because of reciprocity agreements. Check with your state Licensing Board to see if there is a reciprocity agreement with California’s BRN. RDs and RNs in California can use our CEs towards their professional hours continuing education requirement.
Pharmacists in California can count our CEs towards their professional hours continuing education requirement because of a reciprocity agreement between the California BRN and the California Board of Pharmacists. Pharmacists and other health care professionals in other states should check with their state Licensing Board to see if there is a reciprocity agreement with California’s BRN or the CDR.
Since we are not directly an approved provider through the NABP, Pharmacists need to self-report their CE hours.
*Most programs and courses have Prior Approval from the CDR. Any course or webinar listed without CEs/CPEUs will not have Prior Approval and cannot count towards RD, CDCES, or BC-ADM CE/CPEU requirements.
The use of DES products does not guarantee the successful passage of the certification exam. CBDCE and ADCES do not endorse any preparatory or review materials for the CDCES or BC-ADM exams, except for those published by CBDCE & ADCES.
